How To Ollie
This was a fun little infographic that I put together. You can get the printable PDF here. It’s 36 x 24 inches.
Man of Action
Mr. Potter Esquire. He runs Potter Esquire Clothing in New York. He asked me to do a portrait when he saw the Interesting People Paintings in 2010. A consummate promoter, boxer, musician and businessman yet down to earth. I really enjoyed working on this one.
Zen Clown
I thought that I could design my website to be all chaotic. Turned out to be a failure. But at least I got this cool illustration out of it. At least I think it’s cool. If your afraid of clowns you won’t think it’s cool. Especially this clown. He is all magical or something. Does he represent my silly sarcastic nature or my wannabe zen character or just that I tend to juggle so much stuff that it feels like my world is turning upside down.
Yes it was intentional that he be sideways. Part of the magic.
Foolin’ Around
More Clowns. I like clowns. I didn’t start this one digitally. I wanted to see what I could do with the acrylic ink I am so fond of but seems to sit on the shelf.
Nick Of Time
I did this painting in the Nick of Time. So it’s got sort of two meanings for me. I was getting disinterested in art in general, I sort of came to a wall. Like all good creatives I kept trying to get over the wall using my sketchbook, painting in different mediums, and modeling in 3D. Then Adobe finally put transparency in Illustrator and I was looking at the lasso masking techniques used in photoshop by the Computer Graphic geniuses.
I realized I could do the same thing as them in Illustrator. So I tried it on an old sketch. 6 Hours later this is what I had.
