Video Game Work
I was lucky to be able to work as Art Director on the Iphone Game Sigma. Here is a few of the screen shots. My work was limited, to direction, as I was managing and doing art for another project at the same time.
The Genius behind the game is Danial Kratt. Go check out his website for his other brilliant moves.
The actual artwork was done by Cil Cheung. With some help from others in the studio.

Sometimes I get to do the characters for a video game. I never thought I would really do one for a Facebook game. TRZZonline Fame and Fortune drops June 2010 on Facebook. It’s all about doing those gigs, to get famous and make money, so you can have that celebrity lifestyle we all sometimes dream of.

Sometimes we are good and sometimes we are bad. The game allows you to help out your friends or give them a hard time. It’s really about how important it is for you to be more famous than them.

Your gonna need help to get to the top. Above is your one man band and the make up girl. Below is the entire Entourage.

Sheena knows what it takes to be famous. She is hard at work getting you the gigs you need.
Off you go. Get to work. But look good doing it.
Sheena started out as a Video Host on a major network. Now she is ready to help you make it to the top.

I got this assignment from Science Alberta to design some fake fish for a place called WonderVille. These were just quickies that were going to be used by the animator, who I ended up being the one to hire for the project. Overall it went quite well for me as I got to try to make these fun fishies. I also had to do real ones that would live in the rivers of Alberta. I’m not showing them because you can google those fish and see pictures.
This is the only place to see WonderVille Fish.

This was supposed to go in an educational game that featured Pirates and Math problems. Very fun project for me that was suddenly canceled. Luckily I had finished much of the background art for the first level and was able to put it together into this Painting. I have prints if you want them.

I have worked on the Virtual Villagers Series for about three years. It’s a pretty popular game with the Casual Gamer crowd. I started at the end of the project on VV1 and finished VV4. I’m not working on VV5 because sadly all things must eventually come to an end. Arthur and Carla of Last Day of Work still consider the series their baby and want to keep working on it until the fans ask them to stop.
I don’t see that happening for a long time though.
Available at Big Fish Games.

Eventually I want to bring this concept to life. All I need is a big investor with a heart of gold who believes that educational games don’t have to be terrible. I did at least get a fun heavy metal bee and cool tour bus. I just want kids to be able to play with them.

Originally this guy was going to sky down a hill with a lot of sharp rocks. Fun for the artist.
I never found out why this project was canceled. Money most likely.

I only needed a side view for the demo.
